Since 1964, James has focused his expertise and imagination on clean lines and modern design. James is currently Vice President of the La Jolla Historical Society and co-chair of the society’s Facilities Committee. He previously served as co-chair of the La Jolla Merchant’s Association design board. His early work at the firms of Eero Saarinen and SOM contributes to a rich and thoughtful sense of architectural design value and aesthetic. While at SOM, James contributed to the design of the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum Complex. His later experience includes the design and master plan of the Ventura County Government Center and the Brea Civic/Cultural Center. His work has received numerous AIA Regional & Local Design Awards.
